The Hero of the Village – Sikandar

In a small peaceful village surrounded by green fields and mountains, there lived a young man named Sikandar. Everyone in the village loved him. Children loved playing with him. Elders respected him. And the villagers trusted him more than anyone else. Sikandar was not rich, but he had something more valuable than money — a brave heart and a kind soul. Whenever someone in the village had a problem, Sikandar was always the first person to help. If someone’s crops failed, he helped them harvest. If someone was sick, he took them to the nearest town for treatment. Because of this, people often said, "Sikandar is not just a villager… he is the heart of this village." But one day, something happened that changed everything. The Arrival of TK One afternoon, a stranger arrived in the village. His name was TK. TK came from a big city. He was educated, well-dressed, and spoke very confidently. At first glance, he seemed like a successful businessman. But inside, he was a very greedy and dishonest man. TK had a habit of cheating poor and simple people. In many villages, he tricked people with fake business deals and took their land and property. And now, his next target was Sikandar’s village. TK’s Clever Plan When TK arrived in the village, he began observing the people. Soon he realized something important. Most villagers were uneducated and innocent. They depended completely on their farmland for survival. He also discovered that the villagers would never sell their land, because it was their only source of income. So TK made a clever but dangerous plan. The next day, he gathered the villagers and said: "I have come with a great opportunity for all of you." Everyone became curious. TK continued, "You people work very hard on your farms, but your income is small. I want to help you." The villagers listened carefully. "I will grow crops on half of your land using my workers and modern machines. But I will pay you money equal to the entire land." The villagers were shocked. They had never heard such an offer before. They whispered among themselves. "Half land… but money for full land?" It sounded too good to be true. But greed slowly began to grow in their hearts. The Contract TK then brought out some papers. "Just put your thumbprint here," he said. "This is only proof that you are allowing me to work on your land for one year." The villagers trusted him. Most of them could not read the document. But they believed TK. One by one, they placed their thumbprints on the paper. Everyone signed… Except Sikandar. Something felt wrong to him. He quietly said, "I will not sign until I read the paper." TK became slightly nervous but pretended to smile. "Don't worry… it’s just a simple agreement." But Sikandar refused. The Truth Revealed After everyone signed, TK suddenly changed his tone. He laughed loudly and said, "Congratulations! According to these papers, all this land now belongs to me." The villagers were shocked. "What?!" "You said it was only for one year!" But TK showed them the contract. It clearly stated that all their land had been transferred to TK permanently. The villagers felt helpless. They had unknowingly given away everything. TK then said coldly, "I will build a factory here. You all have two days to leave this land, or I will call the police." Many villagers began crying. Their homes, their farms, their lives — everything was gone. Sikandar Steps Forward But Sikandar remained calm. Because he had not signed the papers. His land still belonged to him. He gathered all the villagers and said, "Do not worry. You can stay on my land for now." Even though his land was small compared to the whole village, Sikandar shared it with everyone. The villagers realized something. While they had been greedy for money… Sikandar had been wise. The Lawyer’s Advice The villagers then went to a lawyer in the nearby town. After reading the papers, the lawyer said sadly, "Legally, the land now belongs to TK." The villagers lost all hope. But Sikandar asked, "Is there any way to fight this?" The lawyer thought for a moment and said, "Yes… if we can prove that the villagers were tricked and the contract was fraud, the court might cancel it." But proving fraud would not be easy. TK had powerful connections. The Battle for Justice Sikandar refused to give up. He traveled to nearby villages and found people who had also been cheated by TK. Slowly, many victims came forward. Together, they gathered evidence against TK. The case went to court. TK tried to bribe officials and threaten witnesses. But Sikandar remained fearless. Finally, after months of struggle, the judge gave the verdict. "The contract was obtained through fraud. Therefore, it is invalid." The land was returned to the villagers. The Fall of TK TK was arrested for cheating many villages. His empire of lies collapsed. The villagers celebrated their victory. But everyone knew one thing. Without Sikandar, they would have lost everything. The True Hero One evening, the villagers gathered and thanked Sikandar. The village elder said, "You saved not just our land… but our future." Sikandar smiled and replied, "A village survives only when its people stand together." From that day on, Sikandar was not just loved. He became a legend in the village. Moral of the Story Greed can blind people, but wisdom and courage can defeat even the biggest deception. And sometimes… One brave person is enough to save an entire community.
